Neha Gogia, PhD

Neha completed her Bachelor’s (B.Tech.) and Master’s degree (M.Tech.) with specialization in Biotechnology Engineering from India. During her Master’s degree program, she was selected for the Student Exchange Program with Cornell University. She also had an opportunity to work as a research fellow at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI, India). After gaining valuable research work experience in India, Neha moved to the United States, where she completed her Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Biological Sciences from The University of Dayton, OH. Her doctoral research focused on studying organogenesis and human neurodegenerative diseases: 1. Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and 2. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Presently at Yale, she is working as a Postdoctoral Associate. Her present work is focused on understanding the molecular basis of cellular pathology and disease mechanisms underlying polyglutamine (polyQ) diseases. She enjoys using her skills to serve science. In her free time, she likes practicing sports, listening to music, traveling, and socializing.
