Sowmithra completed her master’s in Biotechnology (M.Sc.) and Molecular Medicine (M.Tech) from St. Aloysius college, Mangalore and Amrita center for molecular medicine and neurosciences(ACSNMM), Kochi, India respectively. She then received her Ph.D. in Biophysics from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bengaluru, India whereby she studied the neuroprotective role of mesenchymal stromal cells on human embryonic stem cells derived neural progenitors as a main model under the guidance of Dr. Indrani Datta. Sowmithra joined Dr. Lim’s lab in the Yale University in December 2021 as a Post-Doctoral researcher.
